The traditional ceramic tableware production in Wilhelmsburg is being revived!
Mr. Manfred Schönleitner and Montana Holding Ges.m.b.H., Vienna, have founded SLL
Ceramics Produktionsgesellschaft m.b.H., based in Wilhelmsburg, at the end of June 2024.
For several decades, Mr. Schönleitner and his mechanical engineering company were
responsible for all technical matters at both Lilienporzellan and LAUFEN Austria AG.
For over 15 years, Montana Holding, through its shareholding in Frauenthal Group, participated
in the development of one of the world’s largest manufacturers of electrical ceramics and
technical ceramics, including tableware. Montana will provide the financing for the new
company.
SLL will revive the production of ceramic tableware in Wilhelmsburg, including the world
famous tableware patterns in pastel colors known as „Daisy“ In addition, classics such as the
„Corinna“ series from the 1960s will be reissued exclusively. SLL will also produce a range of
decorative porcelain, bespoke tableware and shop items.
Extensive production facilities have been acquired and are being installed to enable production to be launched by the autumn of 2024.
Investments amount to around € 1.1 million, which will be raised by SLL using its own funds.
The initial plan is to produce 80.000 pieces of tableware on a full year basis. Particular
emphasis is also placed on sustainability and ecological aspects in production.
Employees from the former production will bring their many years of experience to the manufacturing
and decoration of the popular „Lilien“ tableware which will be issued under a new brand.
The aim is to build on the more than 100 year old tradition of cer amic production in
Wilhelmsburg and to preserve and pass on the unique craftsmanship and artistic skills of the
tableware production employees. Mr. Manfred Schönleitner has spent many years building up the popular tableware museum in Wilhelmsburg: www.geschirrmuseum.at. He will manage the new company.
